EcoBalancer

EcoBalancer distributes the load between multiple EcoSGE devices, providing the capability to process traffic at terabit speeds.

For highly loaded nodes, when the bandwidth of one EcoSGE device is not enough, it is necessary to install several such devices to process all incoming traffic. In this case, the traffic is sent to the EcoBalancer, which distributes it between several EcoSGE devices and then aggregates the processed traffic back to the same link from which the traffic was received. Since EcoBalancer, like the EcoSGE device, is an L2-transparent device, for the outside world the cluster looks like one high-performance EcoSGE device.

  • Traffic balancing between individual processor cores of EcoSGE devices;
  • Guaranteed transmission of Upstream and Downstream packets of one session (flow) or all traffic of one subscriber always through the same EcoSGE device;
  • Aggregation of asymmetric traffic flows;
  • Support for balancing of incoming IP packets with complex encapsulation (802.1q / MPLS / PPPoE, etc.);
  • Sends keepalive packets through EcoSGE devices to determine whether they operate or not;
  • Redundancy of EcoSGE devices according to N+1 scheme;
  • Implementation of transparent traffic transmission mode with mirroring on EcoSGE;
  • Offloading EcoSGE devices by transparently passing individual flows of transit traffic that do not require processing, for example, IP Multicast traffic;
  • Interaction with EcoBypass optical bypass switches to disconnect the entire cluster in case of emergency or during routine maintenance.
